Although the STO guide is in its beta version when I got it, judging by the structure and amount of informative gaming know-how shared by the author, I found it sound and helpful. What truly amazed me was that the author was capable of getting a guide out very early, an entire month before the official game launch with good content.

As a long time MMORPG gamer who prefers to stick to guides and walkthroughs, besides the early guide release which took me by surprise was that there were practically no other guides around besides the discussion and mini-guides that can be found in forums.

Already found in the early version of the guide are a details on skills, career paths, ships, equipment, combat and bridge officers. This Star Trek Online guide is one recommendable read.
